Hi! I'm Raphael a second year here at UBC
with a passion to build, design, and make our lives
just a little better through architecture. I'm still at the
beginning chapters of my career, so the Department of Visual
Arts was a door left to be adventured! To be an artist in the age
of AI is less about making everything from scratch and more about making meaningful choices. When tools can generate endlessly, intention becomes the artwork. AI can act as a collaborator or extension, but the artist decides what to keep, question, or discard. In this way, being an artist today means staying deliberately human, using technology to reflect, shape, and deepen ideas rather than replace them.
